Overview

Relief/On-Call

Family Solutions provides intensive behavioral rehabilitation services in a residential setting to youth, ages 12-18. The youth served in these programs often struggle to thrive in other settings as the result of behavioral challenges which typically stem from mental, emotional, physical trauma, or neglect.  By actively engaging with youth through play, activities, outings and therapeutic group work, the Residential Treatment Counselor supports the youth in building skills which encourage resiliency.  Through this process, the Residential Treatment Counselor is able to support the healing process develop skills to help the youth transition successfully back into their community.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with clerical duties and maintaining client files as needed.
  • Share responsibility for implementing treatment plans for assigned youth and communicate pertinent information and maintain open communication to other line-staff, supervisor, program manager, program coordinator as necessary and work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Providing 24 hour youth supervision.
  • Maintain accurate medication logs and ensure accurate administering of medication to residents.
  • Complete sleep logs if necessary, tallies, progress notes and other appropriate logs/documentation.
  • Actively engage with youth through play, activities, outings and therapeutic group work.
  • Demonstrate skills in non-violent crisis intervention and physical restraint as necessary.
  • Transport youth as arranged and assigned.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate lines of communication with parents of assigned youth.
  • Observe all agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high ethical standards with regard to treatment and client confidentiality.

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of relative work experience with children and/or adolescents.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of combination of formal education or relative experience is preferred.
  • Must be an excellent communicator with the skills to acknowledge the needs of others and recognizing various points of view.
  • Able to persuade others based on what is in the best interest of the client/resident.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to clear a background check conducted through ODHS.

Hourly: $18.17 - $33.51 Wage is based on Experience & Education

Additional $1.00 per hour pay for working hours between 3pm - 11pm & Additional $2.00 per hour pay for working hours between 11pm - 7am
