Overview

 

On-Call/ Relief Position

The Educational Assistant/Mental Health “Milieu Treatment Specialist” works as support staff within a multidisciplinary team to further the emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children at Family Solution’s Day Treatment Program.  This position will be an on-call/relief position to cover shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Participate with the Treatment Team in the formulation and writing of each child’s comprehensive assessment, comprehensive treatment plan and functional behavioral assessment.
  • Share responsibility for implementing the group milieu treatment plan.
  •  Work with community agencies and others when appropriate to provide coordinated treatment.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the group (and sub-groups) of assigned children; planning and structuring appropriate group activities, leading, and intervening as necessary.
  • Communicate treatment information to other clinical staff as necessary.
  •  Transport children as arranged and assigned.
  • Maintain clinical records as prescribed by the Agency.
  • Demonstrate skills in non-violent crisis intervention and physical restraint as necessary.
  • Attend and participate IEP, WRAP, CFT, meetings.
  • Complete daily progress notes, attendance, incident reports, behavioral logs, participation logs, and other clinical documentation
  • Establish and maintain appropriate lines of communication with parents of assigned children, as established by the Family Therapist, and teacher regarding children’s progress in the Day Treatment program.
  • Assist in educational program as arranged and assigned, and under the direction of the Program Manager or SPED Teacher.
  • Maintain high ethical standards with regard to service and client confidentiality.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with all team members.
  • Observe all agency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in a meaningful fashion in assigned individual and group supervision, training, and all other assigned agency meetings.
  • Follow disinfection schedules as necessary.
  • Serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3 years of combination of formal education and experience with children or young adults. 
  • Must be an excellent communicator with the skills to acknowledge the needs of others and recognizing various points of view.
  • Able to persuade others based on what is in the best interest of the client/resident.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to clear a background check conducted through ODHS.

 

Benefits/Wage:

This is an On-call/Relief position and eligible for the following

Hourly wage:  $18.17 - $33.51

Depending on Relative Experience and/or Education
